What is True Love Waits 2? True Love Waits 2 (TLW 2), also called Waiting, Dating and Mating (WDM) in a young adult context, is a multi-media chastity empowerment program designed for high school age students and young adults. TLW 2 is a sequel to the original True Love Waits program. It was created in response to requests by youth leaders who successfully conducted the original True Love Waits course and wanted a follow-up curriculum for their youth that would reinforce concepts of purity that were introduced in the original program. TLW 2 is a stand-alone program, but ideally it should succeed the original True Love Waits program. The TLW 2 program can be integrated into a classroom, Sunday school or church youth group setting. It is designed to be very easily implemented by youth leaders, teachers, parents, or simply, people with a heart for youth. The TLW 2 team of a given church or school leads the young people through a five (5) session program, which involves discussion, worksheets, videos and games to impart the message that True Love Waits for marriage. Ideally, the sessions are scheduled for five consecutive weeks, with Session 2 and part of Session 3 held in single-sex groups. For this reason, it is imperative that the TLW 2 team have several members from both sexes. The first three sessions have been designed to be two hours long and the last two are 2-1/2 hours long. As with the original program, TLW 2 concludes with an opportunity for the participants to recommit/make a pledge of purity in a ring ceremony which can be incorporated either into a worship service or Mass. Since it is the parents’ duty to be the primary educators of their children regarding sex, the TLW 2 program commences with an informational meeting for parents. In this ‘Parent Meeting,’ the TLW 2 team summarizes and discusses the entire program. Parents are thereby empowered to reinforce the purity principles discussed during the program with their sons and daughters at home. What are the topics of the TLW 2 Sessions?
